My method

Like any artist, it is difficult not to first draw the inspiration on my own past.
It is frequently admitted that creativity very often remains a form of externalization or even a kind of therapy.
My artistic approach favors above all the form and the search for aesthetics.
However, the content is not neglected in most of my series and collections.
Each painting, beyond shapes and colors, thus contains one or more messages related to my vision of the world and of our society.

My sources of inspiration

My first source of inspiration: the condition of our world and our societies as well as the observation of the human behavior. Listening the daily news stimulate my thinking and therefore my creativity. It enables me to externalize the embarrassment and the trouble I feel listening to all this information.
It is clear that the same causes always produce the same effects: "Money, power, violence, love, religion, ecological crisis.....just observe".

The human being remains an enigma for me. The genius and monstrous "animal" man is thus an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

How has he been able, in only three centuries, to trash our planet to the point of endangering it? Should we be optimistic or pessimistic in front of such a situation?
The organization of human societies from antiquity to the present day has almost always turned out to be a disaster: dictatorships, inequality, slavery, incessant wars, genocides, corruption, terrorism etc.

The future is just as worrying as the present and the past. On the scale of a human life, nothing seems truly decisive and important. We do not behave reasonably individually and collectively.
The spectacle offered by the leaders of our world during the various international summits reveals our deep nature. Selfishness still guides most of our decisions and actions.

However, there are more and more problems to solve: precipitated extinction of animal species, scarcity of natural resources, unequal access to water, soaring energy, climate change, land and sea pollution, impoverishment and migratory flows, return of slavery…
At the same time, fortunes are becoming more and more concentrated. A very closed circle of billionaires will soon own most of a planet populated by several billion of humans.

Despite the complexity of the equations, the human being is at a crossroads of his adventure. We have no right to fail in front of the great challenges of tomorrow. We owe it to future generations.
